Why Game OF Thrones finale had the perfect ending?

Are you done watching Game of Thrones season finale? Don't tell me you are disappointed too? So, you also wanted John to be the king or was it Cersei's merciless death that would have given you more pleasure? I know more than half of the world is grieving over this kind of ending to the show but I can still give you enough reasons to prove that this was the best ending for the show. No theories could have given a better justice to each and every important character of the show.

I'll try to be quick and short. Hope you'll bear with me till the end.

Let's start with our favourite John. He never wanted to rule. He was a peace loving bastard, scretly a Targaryen who grew up under the mentorship of Ned Stark who again was not a fan of violence and 'Rule'. He wanted to help people and make world a better place. He united everyone to fight with the common enemy and eventually fought with the people who were selfish (The last Lannisters) again to make world a better place. Killed Dany in the end and left everyone to live with the FREE-men, The Wildlings.

Sansa was the most stupid of all but life taught her wisdom and her experiences made her strong enough that she ended up saving her people and her land. She ended up being their queen. Isn't this right in its own way? It was her wisdom that John won the Battle of Bastards. She was the real brain and hero of that war. No one else.

Arya was born a different kind. In a world where girls were taught embroidery, she wanted to learn sword fighting. She never wanted to be what everybody wanted her to become. In search of becoming what she truly was, she ended up being 'No-one'. 'We are a part of the universe, the universe lies within not outside'-She learned it at an early age and eventually left everything to explore the unexplored because she was not meant to be tamed. She was the universe, she needed to explore every bit of it.

Khaleesi grew up with a brother who treated her like a slave and wanted her to get married off to somebody who could give her brother more power. She grew up with the desire for freedom along with rebel taking roots in her heart. Her turning into mother of dragons not only gave wings to her dreams of turning the world into a better place but also made her think that dragons will help her rule the world that she wanted to free. Isn't it ironical? She wanted to rule a free world on her own terms. Well, even Drogon understood that whatever John did was for the best of the world which is why he burned the throne but not him.

Animals are not meant to be tamed, they are meant to lead a free life. Drogon left and made everyone equal with no special creature backing any ruler.

Cersei was selfish. She didn't deserve a merciless death, she was already hurting with each of her children dying one after another. Don't you think she suffered the most? Looking at all her children die in pain was the best punishment she could get. She eventually died. If not Khaleesi, Arya would've killed her. It shows, every bad vibe has an ending. It's not always brutal but it ends.

Jamie pushed Bran from the tower and ended up losing his hand. Every character got what they deserved. He ended up making wrong decisions all his life and his last decision took his life. Maybe this is was fate do to us to create lessons for the future generations.

'I drink and I think', said Tyrion, the imp and ended up surviving what the bravest and the strongest ended up losing. It shows that it isn't your size that matters (no non-veg jokes, please), it is how you plan on leading your life, how you act on things, how you interpret things, how well you use your brain that makes us win the ultimate battle of life which is life itself.

Last, the protector of the realm, Bran. He had visions. He never wanted to rule but who better than somebody who knows what's happenning everywhere and still has no interest in literally ruling! Bran had a vision of the world and for the world, who could be a better democratic ruler for the people, of the people and by the people to lead people into a new world with wisdom from the past and present.

I can write about every character that died in the previous episodes too but every death either played an inportant role in making that bad world reach its end or made the remaining ones learn a lesson. With this, we need to understand that the show had no hero but every character being a hero at his/her own time. Every character was important. No character was given a central role because not every story is a fairy tale that ends with the princess finding her prince charming or a hero ending up being the king for a happily ever after. There are a few stories that don't work on the principles of Indian soap operas that the important character will come back alive even if in the final episode (Hats off to those who believed that Ned Stark will come back in the finale, you guys rock!).

And above all, respect the author, writers and directors who made you stick to the show for 10 long years and made you buy Hotstar Premium subscription (For Indian Audience only) even if you found it useless (it has some great shows though!). They were cool enough to understand how to give justice to every character, you should be that too.

PS: With this, I also want to make a special mention. The last season could have been planned in a more elaborated manner to make people digest the madness Khaleesi's soul nurtured due to the sudden power that she got (with hardwork but without proper wisdom).
Two more episodes in between with focus on Dany turning into a mad queen, not understanding that it's not fear that people want, it's freedom that the world needed to be a better place would have made the viewers a bit more satisfied. Kudos to the people writing undoubtedly beautiful theories. Ekta Kapoor should hire you all for her upcoming season of Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu thi. #NooffencetoEktaMam

  3. Perfect explanation for those who were talking or writing nonsense about FINALE, including me. Every character got what they wanted and desired for. After watching the last episode my whole conception was changed.

    1. We can just put forward out point of view and can't force people to think the way we do. This post was a try to make a few disappointed ones smile. I think I am happy now. <3

  4. Agreed, the story justified the character but the speed directors chose wasn't justified at all. Everything just happened too fast which made people losing their interest in the show. They could have added one or 2 more episode to channelise the story well.

    1. I agree on the fast speed. The directors should have divided the episodes into smaller and more detailed ones. But, now that it's over. We should respect the epic show that they created. :-)
