Review: Asha Ke Pankh

Asha ke Pankh
- Neelam Saxena Chandra

A very special thanks to Neelam Saxena Chandra ma'am for the review copy of this book.

When the world says, "Give up" Hope whispers, "Try it one more time."

About the book:

Written wonderfully, Asha ke Pankh is a beautiful collection of poems all woven around the central theme “Hope”. Apart from Neelam Saxena Chandra, it also features poetry contributions from Ruchita Kajariya, Uma Jhunjhunwala, Anup Jalaan, Shalabh Saxena, Somya Vilekar, Kusum Goswami, Madhurima Jaypuriar, Amod Kumar Rai, Geeta Soori, Dr. Dipika Rani Garg, Mitika Kakkar.

Talking about the compiler and (majority) writer of this book, the way with which Neelam Ji has written these poems show her experience, maturity level and understanding in life. Endowed with an optimistic approach, it is an effort from her side to motivate the people who miss an important aspect called “HOPE” aspect in their life. Discussing all the hardships that humans face in their life, this is a source of inspiration to tell others that ‘Hope is important because it can make the present moment of pain and worry less difficult to bear and if we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today’.

So forget all your worries and problems and dive into this picturesque journey of motivation which at once will take you into a different world altogether leaving a positive spark in your life.

My Opinion

An exceptional blend of Hindi literature, emotions and reality, this book is a must read, especially for the demoralized and pessimistic souls so that they can have a lively experience and drive into the world of hope. All the poems are connected to the central theme and title of the book. Also, the creativity and imagination with which these are knitted shows deep visualizing power and command over the language which helps the readers to establish a strong connection with the words expressed.

Some of the selected poems that touched my heart are:

  • Amaltas ke Phool
  • Asha Ke Pankh
  • Zindagi
  • Kya mai Zinda Hu?
  • Kagaj ki Kashti
  • Nai Nai Mai
  • Nai Asha
  • Toofan
  • Lamhe
  • Udaan

Some of the poems of other contributors that were beautiful:

  • Umeed by Mitika Kakkad
  • Shitij hu, Shitij ke paar hu by Geeta Suri

Some of my favorite excerpts from this collection are:

Khona mat aas ko
Rakhna sahejkar man ke vishwas ko
Dhund lena sapno aur tamannao ko
Shayad vo kahi aspas ho....(From the poem: Jeet ki Raah)

Pantkh tut jaye to kya
Asman bhi bhot hai udne ke liye....(From the poem: Zindagi)

Saari mushkilo ke baavjud
vo muskura rahe the
Titli bhavre prafullit se
Un par mandra rahe the....(From the poem: Amaltas ke Phool

  2. Have you read this??
I dont think this is general. Right from mentioning poet't objective behind writing this to the central theme, best poetries amkngst a collection of 86 poems and the best lines from different poetries are mentioned properly. Still if you feel so, can you please state clearly what more do you expect?
    Keep writing..keep smiling keep shining!!
